For the past few months, the Southwest Organizing Project (SWOP) has been actively working on Get Out The Vote (GOTV) efforts to ensure that southwest Chicago residents are informed and ready to participate in the upcoming election. With election day quickly approaching, SWOP organizers and community leaders are intensifying their canvassing efforts, sharing critical information with residents about new choices on the ballot, including the historic opportunity to elect school board members—a first for Chicagoans. By engaging community members in conversations and distributing informational materials, SWOP aims to equip voters with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, SWOP does not endorse any particular candidate or political party. Instead, its commitment is solely to foster civic engagement by keeping community members aware of their options and encouraging them to exercise their right to vote. By remaining neutral, SWOP helps ensure that everyone has the resources and support necessary to confidently participate in the electoral process and shape the future of their community.
