The Southwest Organizing Project's (SWOP) Parent Mentors and Parent Mentor Coordinators have been tirelessly supporting teachers and students across member institution schools, working collaboratively to foster inclusive and nurturing learning environments. Through their dedication, these Parent Mentors have played a vital role in ensuring that every student and educator feels supported, creating a foundation where no one is left behind. Their efforts in building strong relationships with principals, teachers, and families have strengthened school communities, providing a model for collaboration and shared success.
On November 21, 2024, Parent Mentor Organizers and Coordinators took a well-deserved pause to celebrate their hard work. Gathering in support of one another, they reflected on the meaningful strides they’ve made in promoting equity and engagement within their schools. The gathering was filled with joy, gratitude, and a renewed sense of purpose, as they shared stories of impact and growth. This moment of celebration underscored the importance of their contributions and encouraged the rejuvenation of each Parent Mentor in the room as they work toward closing out 2024.
