SWOP CP4P Presents: Graffiti Workshop and Graffiti Battle Competition

This summer, the Communities Partnering 4 Peace (CP4P) team is enriching community events by expanding their art programming. On July 23, 2024, the CP4P team hosted an engaging graffiti workshop, providing an opportunity for community members to learn the fundamentals of graffiti art. The workshop was a collaborative effort made possible by the support of the Mars Wrigley Foundation, LISC Chicago, and the talented Chicago artist, Izze Ortiz. Ortiz shared her expertise and passion for using spray paint as a medium, inspiring participants to explore their creativity and express themselves through vibrant street art.

Building on the success of the workshop, CP4P organized a thrilling graffiti battle competition on July 30, 2024, at Saint Clare of Montefalco's on 55th & Talman. This event showcased the skills and creativity of local artists, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie. The graffiti battle not only highlighted the artistic talents within the community but also emphasized the positive impact of art in bringing people together. Through these initiatives, CP4P, with the support of its partners, has demonstrated the power of art in promoting unity, self-expression, and community engagement, enriching the cultural fabric of the neighborhood.
